My name is Paul Blahnik and I’ve been trading for over 10 years. I started my journey at the Chicago Board of Trade while working for a Futures Trading education company back in 2014. I learned to trade the E-Mini S+P500 (ES) along with the E-Mini NASDAQ (NQ). I was taught and coached by some of the best professional traders in the industry. My former boss and mentor was a market maker on the floor of the exchange for one of the largest financial institutions in the world. I still enjoy trading futures but my passion lives in the options market.

I started trading options later that year and never looked back. For the last 9 years I have been teaching members how to trade options on equities (stocks). The options market offers many advantages over the futures market for the average retail trader. Options allow traders to take advantage of significant leverage without the need for significant capital. You can start trading with very little money as most brokers have no margin requirements or account minimums. I always tell beginners that they should start with at least $2,500, however, you can start trading with simulated money.

Over the last 10 years I’ve learned that controlling your emotions is paramount. I made and lost millions of dollars before truly learning that lesson. It doesn’t matter how good of a trader you are, when you get too confident the Universe has a way of destroying your greed. Bulls and Bears will prosper but Pigs get slaughtered.

Retail traders often spend so much time researching equities and looking for opportunities that they forget to pull the trigger.
